The 2010 International Sourcing Fair was held in Shanghai last month, jointly organized by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and municipal government of Shanghai.
The fair is the largest multinational purchasing one in China, referring to 32 countries or regions and 306 purchasers for exhibition, and aims to face the challenge of “post financial crisis” and to attract about 5000 suppliers for attendance.
The fair established the seven main purchasing zones regarding to Japanese manufacturing, German manufacturing, United Nations, automobile parts, global famous manufacturing, global famous retailer, Central America, and the main purchasers contained IBM, BP, Fiat, Nokia, Siemens, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Wal-Mart, Tesco, etc. The total amount of procurement reached 26 billion dollars.
