Last week, Roundtable Forum on High Quality Development of China Garment Trade was grandly convened in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. Attendances to the forum including Zhang Xi'an, vice president of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export Textile, Chen Guodong, vice mayor of Changshu Municipal People's government, Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, embassies of Ethiopia and Belarus in China, and representatives of more than 70 enterprises, business associations and institutions from China, Japan and Hungary.

In face of the uncertainties of the global economic recession and the increasingly complex external environment, the international textile and clothing consumption and circulation are undergoing subversive changes due to the double impact of COVID-19 and trade friction that merging markets and trade patterns will become the new engines of foreign trade growth in the future. This Roundtable forum focuses on the breakthrough path of textile and garment enterprises under the the backdrop of COVID-19, how to foster a new mode of foreign trade development, drive dual cycle with "digital trade + platform economy" at home and abroad, and jointly promote the quality, efficiency, transformation and upgrading of foreign trade.
