Last month, the President of ALIC——Mr. Liu Xiliang, with the investment and trade delegation of China Commerce Ministry, visited Copenhagen in Denmark and Vienna in Austria.

‘China-Denmark economic and trade cooperation forum’ and ‘China-Austria economic and trade cooperation forum’ were sponsored by China Commerce Ministry, Denmark Foreign Ministry, and Austria Economic Ministry, also organized by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, Danish Trade Council Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Austria Federal Chamber.

China Commerce Minister Mr. Chen Deming and Danish Economic Minister Mr. Brian Mikkelsen attended the forum and made a speech respectively. Besides, Chinese Ambassador to Denmark Mr. Xie Hangsheng and Chinese Ambassador to Austria Mr. Wu Ken also were present.

The ALIC President Mr. Liu Xiliang was invited to join the forum, which also included more than 100 enterprises and chambers of commerce referring to machinery, light industry, textile and so on.

According to the introduction of the Minister Mr. Chen Deming, the forum aimed to reach the consensus that was mentioned during Chinese Premier Mr. Wen Jiabao meeting the Prime Minister of Denmark——Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen and the Chancellor of Austria in April,2010. At the same time, it also means that China hope to cooperate with Denmark, Austria, and other countries in Europe in order to promote the long-term development after international financial crisis.

It was reported that during international financial crisis, although the negative effects existed in the economic and trade cooperation of China-Denmark and China-Austria, the trend of development of bilateral economic relationship did not change. In 2009, although the total trade of China-Denmark declined, the high-tech product trade increased by 8.9%. Meanwhile, in 2009, the annual trade volume of China-Austria reached 4.83 billion dollar, slightly declined by 1.2% than that of last year. However, Austrian exports to China still increased by 9.1%, and China was the only export growth market for Austria.

Importantly, the economic and trade cooperation forum was designed to encourage Chinese enterprises to import from Denmark and Austria.
